This project aims to understand the patterns of migration flows posing challenges to Turkish foreign policy and Turkey's relations with the EU. Students will be asked to collect data on migratory flows, asylum seekers and refugees in Turkey and assess the conditions in the refugee camps in Turkey. In addition, students will conduct research on the diverging responses within the EU towards the migration crisis. The project will furnish students with an understanding of the new global challenges posed by mass movement of peoples and the tools that international organisations and states have at their disposal to deal with these mass movements. The project encompasses quantitative data analysis, desk research and mapping of mass movements.
