The project aims to provide geographical distribution of manufacturing industry and its evolution in Turkey since the beginning of the Republic, using employment data from population censuses. Particularly, the project focuses on long-term trends and the division across regions. There are many factors that may explain the location pattern of industry. The project will discuss the importance of these factors and attempt to identify the main determinants in Turkey.
