Conductive inks represent a transformative leap in the realm of modern electronics, offering a versatile and innovative solution for printing electrical circuits and components on a variety of substrates. These inks, infused with conductive materials such as metallic nanoparticles or carbon-based compounds, have revolutionized traditional manufacturing processes, enabling the creation of flexible, lightweight, and customizable electronic devices. From wearable sensors to flexible displays, conductive inks have emerged as a cornerstone technology, driving advancements in fields as diverse as consumer electronics, healthcare, automotive, and beyond. However, conductive inks still face several challenges, from production to performance.
In this project, the synthesis of metal nanoparticles and the processing of carbon-based nanomaterials will be investigated for the development of conductive ink formulations. Students will explore various wet chemical synthesis methods and processing techniques for the production of nanomaterials.
