Developing software for historical studies

This project aims to design a software toolset to analyze the social networks of historical protagonists. By the help of this computational study, a prospective historical research will be able to carry out a prosopografic approach by addressing the biographies of historical characteristics.

This software-based toolset will be designed and implemented in order to be able to analyze the datasets based on the biographies of the relevant actors. The datasets which will be derived from the biographies, will provide us the information on the origins, the family ties, the institutions they had worked and the mobilization through their appointments etc. In this way, the spatial and social networks of these historical characters would be explored for a framed period. The software-based toolset which will be designed as an output of this project, will provide a platform for the social scientists who conduct their researches on social network analysis to upload, classify, analyze and visualize their data.
