In the rapidly evolving field of digital technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly central role in education, particularly in language learning. This research project aims to investigate the influence of AI-driven digital tools on the identity formation processes of language learners. As language learning is closely tied to personal and cultural identity, AI-powered tools may significantly shape learners’ perceptions of self and their cultural affiliations.
Through an interdisciplinary approach combining Cultural Studies and Psychology, this project will explore how AI transforms learners' subjectivization and self-regulated learning strategies. By examining AI’s role in language learning, we aim to understand how learners’ identities are constructed and negotiated in an AI-enhanced educational environment.
Research Objectives:
· Investigate the influence of AI on language learners' perceptions of identity.
· Explore the cultural and psychological dimensions of AI in education.
· Analyze the benefits and challenges of AI-driven personalized learning.
Research Project Type:
This is a Basic Research project, aiming to deepen our understanding of the relationship between AI technologies and language learners’ identity formation. The goal is not to develop a product or solution but to expand academic knowledge in the field.
Participation Requirements:
· Enthusiasm for contributing to a significant research project blending AI and the social sciences.
· Interest in building valuable research and academic writing skills.
· Eagerness to explore how AI can enhance learning processes.
· Desire for hands-on experience with AI-driven educational technologies.
· Collaborative mindset and openness to new experiences.
· Undergraduate student, preferably studying Psychology, Social Sciences, Management, or Computer Science.
· B1/B2 level of English proficiency.
