Advances in sequencing technologies have revealed that there is a large number of RNAs that do not encode proteins. A major class of non-coding RNAs is long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs).Recent work has provided evidence for an emerging regulatory role of lncRNAs. By sequestering miRNAs, lncRNAs can reduce the number of miRNAs available for the target mRNA; in this way, they indirectly prevent the target gene repression, acting like a sponge. In our previous work [1], we develop an informative approach for discovering sponge interactions. This project will involve implementing a web server to display the sponge interactions discovered.
