How do fairyflies fly?

2019-2020 Fall
Faculty Department of Project Supervisor:
Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences
Number of Students:

Fairyflies are tiny creatures with wings of several hundreds of microns in length and covered with cilia. Their motion is different than birds and other insects. In this project students will investigate the fundamental physics of their motion and build scaled-up wing-like structures to mimic this motion in liquids.
