To achieve the target set by the Paris Agreement for 2-degree Celsius Target (2DS) and 1.5 degree Celsius Target (1.5DS), the scientific community has risen to the challenge by developing new battery materials and electric vehicles. However, the existing battery technology, based on lead acid batteries, is expected to continue its commercial dominance in the majority of motor vehicles globally, even 10 years from now. How do we manage the transition in a sustainable manner? The goal of this project is to study this transition, starting with research into market data.
The student leading this project is expected to be creative, tenacious, passionate about materials advancing technological development, and be highly self-motivated.
