Internet of Things (IoT) is a type of network that is comprised of physical tiny objects with embedded processors, sensors and embedded operating systems. With the increased needs of smart devices in daily life, IoT technology became more and more widespread. Being personal, IoT technology brings forward security and privacy problems as well.
In this project, serving as a base for crypto-based security and privacy solutions, a crypto suite will be developed for test and performance benchmark purposes. This suite will be developed using two different IoT platforms (one Raspberry Pi and one Arduino based). Different cryptographic primitives will be tried using different libraries.
The project requires low level programming abilities as well as some crypto knowledge. Taking CS411 or CS432 is a plus, but even if you did not take them, planning to take CS432 during Spring term would work.
