Tissue engineering plays a critical role in regenerative medicine. Advances in TE and regenerative medicine will depend on the design and fabrication of “multifunctional” biomaterials that actively participate in the formation of functional tissues such as bones.

This project aims at designing multi-functional bone scaffolds using simulation based tools and fabrication of these using 3D prototyping based approaches. Part of the work focuses on updating existing design models to address tissue regeneration and angiogenesis and the development of a suitable fabrication method to produce the resulting design.
