A new spray dryer design for ceramic granules

We will incorporate a new nozzle and a rotary platform design to produce large ceramic granules for sintering; The target is
to have granules in sizes larger than 70 micrometer, with either full or hollow interior. We want to reach a green body density
of 60% under 100 MPa unıaxıal pressure. Of course the spray dryer designs entail much more than just the nozzle and a spreading rotating plate.
During our studies we will focus on the slurry (susension of ceramic powders) stabilization by steric hinderance or electrostaric stabilization. We will experiment with
new binder and lubricant combinations. Hopefully at the end of the summer we will have a new recipe for ceramic granules (balls) that flow freely so
that the filling of a mold won't be a problem.
