This project aims to uncover political connections in state contracts among Turkish municipalities. By leveraging the unique big data on the universe of state contracts from Turkey and publicly available trade registries, this project aims to study the prevalence of political connections among Turkish municipalities. It also seeks to examine the terms of state contracts secured by politically connected and unconnected firms with quantitative data analysis and how networks between politicians and companies evolve across different political parties and times.
