We perceive our experiences as a continuous flow, but they are segmented into distinct memory units, a process called event segmentation. This mechanism is essential for shaping episodic memory. While external (e.g., perceptual changes) and internal (e.g., goal shifts) factors influence how we segment ongoing experiences, little is known about how memory structures may change after they are first formed. In this study, we will explore how emotional processing and reward associations reshape previously encoded memories. Interested in discovering how your emotions shape the way you remember the past?
