Semantic Compression, Can semantic similarity reduce the cognitive load?: Behavioral

Is it possible to compress the information that we store in mind? This study investigates the effect of storing semantically similar information in compression in a series of behavioral experiments.
 

  • Students are expected to commit at least 6 hours/week, including ~4 hours for data collection, 30 minutes for a weekly project meeting, and 1.5 hours for reading and data analysis. 
  • We will make sure the readings are both cornerstone works in the literature and genuinely interesting.
