THz communications is considered as one of the key technologies for the upcoming sixth generation (6G) wireless networks, targeting to provide Terabit per second communication services. However, the promised data rates are limited to short ranges, which gets significantly improved for aerial applications. This makes THz communications attractive for non-terrestrial (drone,UAV etc.) applications, which is expected to be another important component of 6G networks.

In this project, we consider, THz band drone communications. We will specifically work on design of medium access control (MAC) layer for THz band drone networks, for not only coordinating the transmissions of multiple drones but also for enabling novel physical layer solutions, such as channel selection, channel estimation, beam tracking, beam control etc. for THz drone communications.

Designed MAC will be implemented on a protocol modeling software for performance analysis, which will involve programming based on c, python languages.
