Mind Compression: Exploring How Semantic Similarity Reduces Cognitive Load

Is it possible to compress the information that we store in mind? This study investigates the effect of storing semantically similar information in compression in a series of behavioral experiments.

  • Students are expected to commit at least 20 hours/week, including ~18 hours for data collection and participation, 30 minutes for a weekly project meeting, and 1.5 hours for reading and data analysis. 
  • We will make sure the readings are both cornerstone works in the literature and genuinely interesting.
