Our research focuses on identifying and analyzing short-lived astrophysical events, observed with NASA’s Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope.  We will use a large database of an instrument (GBM) on board Fermi Telescope to search for transient events, and processing these data requires a lot of computing time.
In this project, the students will be learning and developing algorithms to efficiently managing the database, as well as learning introductory astrophysical data processing.  An experience with Python coding is preferred but not required. Upon successful completion of the PURE project in Summer, the student may be considered for becoming a part of our TUBITAK funded project in the following semesters.
