Conventionally, jet engine rotors are manufactured in three main machining stages, namely roughing, semi-roughing and finishing, at each stage, milling technology is used, which may be costly and may involve environmental issues due to coolants. In this project, sustainability analysis of abrasive waterjet processes will be investigated as a replacement of heavy duty milling processes at the roughing stage.
